Kaylee Halvorson (5’7″, G, Luther College, 2012) of Regina, SK, will be a University of Saskatchewan Huskie for the fall of 2012.

“Being able to join the Husky program is a quite an honour. I look forward to being able to develop myself as a player and person under the trusted coaching staff at the University of Saskatchewan”, says Halvorson, proud to be set to wear the green and white of the school located in Saskatoon.

Halvorson was sidelined with an injury that had kept her from playing High School and Provincial basketball in 2011. Since her recovery, she is pleased with being mended and able to go all out this High School season.

“Nice to finally move on and compete hard once again.”

Halvorson, a Canadian National Cadette Team member in 2009, 2010 Saskatchewan U17 Team member and 2010 Youth Olympic 3-on-3 Team member will look to bolster a Huskies squad that has already earned spots in the CIS Championship five out of the last six season, including earning a Bronze medal back in 2009-2010.

Even with the ton of experience she has under her belt, she is looking forward to the next chapter in her career and the setting that U of S and Head Coach Lisa Thomaidis will provide.

Halvorson went on to say: “The team consists of hard working and talented individuals who will certainly help me achieve the CIS player I strive to be.”
