On May 25, 2013, the JUEL All-Star Game was held at Georgian College in Barrie, ON. The league’s best were split up in a game that saw the Seniors out last the team of Underclasswomen, by a score of 78-68 in an entertaining, wide open game.

In a similar fashion to last year’s game, the Underclasswomen pushed out to an early lead and looked to have a firm grasp on the game, before succumbing to a Second Half surge by the Seniors, who would eventually go on to take the victory.

The game had rosters set to have the Underclasswomen, made up of hand-picked Grade 10 and 11 players, play against graduating Senior High School players. The junior team, parlayed an early first half surge into a 13 point, 42-29, Halftime lead.

But, coming out of the locker room after Halftime, that lead quickly dwindled with the Senior team playing for pride, attacked the hole much more aggressively. They eventually managed to close the gap at 66 just past the midway point of the Fourth Quarter, before closing the game out on a 12-2 run for the Final 78-68 win.

For her efforts, the Underclasswomen’s Christina Buttenham was named the games MVP.
