Carmen HandyCarmen Handy (2.5-stars, W, St Patrick’s) of Sarnia, ON has made her commitment to attend the University of Vermont for the Fall of 2017.

Handy prefers to play facing the basket. She will provide a deep threat for the Catamounts with her ability to play the perimeter. Her size also allows her to play inside of the matchup appears favorable. On the defensive side of the ball, when Handy is able to get in front of opposing perimeter players looking to shoot, she will block, if not alter many shots, making her a threatening disruption to the game plan of her foes.

Vermont has undergone a coaching change in this off season, as they look to make improvements to their America East Conference eighth place finish last season.

Carmen will be joining her sister, Lauren, who has just completed her Freshman year. Besides her joining her sister, Carmen will also be joining a roster that has four other Canadians in Courtney Wright, Candice Wright and Hayley Robertson, all each entering their Sophomore season as well as Nyamouch Teny who enters the 2016-2017 season as a Freshman.
