Kendra Van Leeuwen of Brantford, ON has made her verbal commitment to play for the George Washington University Colonials (Atlantic 10 Conference) in the Fall of 2016.

The Colonials, who earned a sixth seed in this year’s Final Four Tournament, have acquired a solid decision maker that is known to find creative ways to involve her teammates while taking care of the ball. She can be a scoring threat from distance when left open, as displayed on several levels including the AAU circuit with Team Ontario and while representing her country last year on the Canadian National Cadette Womens Team.

While with Team Ontario last summer, Van Leeuwen earned herself a Second Team All-Star award at the Canadian Nationals. This past high school season she led her St John’s College Eagles to a 2nd seed at the OFSAA (Ontario high school provincial playoffs) 3A level, and eventually earned a Silver Medal. Currently, she is playing rep basketball with the Tri-County Thunder of the JUEL league, where she is averaging 10 points and just over 3 assists per game.
