Mexico No Match for Canadians in Round of 16

On June 25, 2016, the Canadian National U17s defeated Mexico by a score of 72-37.

Roxane Makolo scored 10 points to go along with 12 rebounds for her most significant output so far this tournament.

The Canadian team never trailed in this game. They jumped out to a 21-8 lead and never looked back, holding their North American counterparts to less than 11 points per quarter, while themselves scoring no less than 14 per frame.

There was a sizeable contribution from all its players with each earning at 10 minutes of playing time. This opened the door for four of its players score in double figures. Hailey Brown led all Canadians with 14 points. And besides Makolo, Alyssa Jerome and Kyla Shand each scored 10 points of their own.

Canada moves on to play vs Italy in the Round of 8 on June 29.
