The Canadian Junior National Team has identified their 24 remaining tryout candidates that have been invited to attend their upcoming Age Group Assessment Camp on March 27-30, 2015.

“We look forward to this opportunity to assess the progress made by these young nationally identified athletes and for our coaches to provide further direction on their individual performance plans” said Denise Dignard, Canada Basketall’s Director of Women’s High Performance.

What is essentially a tryout, it will be taking place at University of Toronto-Mississauga Campus and at Humber College in Toronto. There, Junior Women’s Team Head Coach, Rich Chambers, will be evaluating the hopefuls that will be attempting to represent their country at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championships for Women, held in Russia from July 16-26. Last summer, the Junior Women’s National Team finished 2nd at the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championships in Colorado Springs in order to qualify for this year’s event.
