On November 25, 2012, Carleton University Head Coach, Taffe Charles, announced that Heather Lindsay will be joining the Ravens in the Fall of 2013.

“I am thrilled to be adding a player of Heather’s calibre to our program”, said Charles. “Heather is exactly the kind of quality person that we are looking for.”

Lindsay had been flying a bit under the radar this Fall as teachers’ Labour disruptions had forced Nepean High School, where she attends, to abandon all sports and extra curricular activities, essentially wiping out this latest school season for her and her team.

Last school year, while playing for her Nepean Knights high school team, she had been named to represent the West team in the Ottawa Senior Girls All-Star Game. Strong play that continued into earlier this Spring where Lindsay had been named to the 2012 JUEL League Underclassmen All-Star Team. This was after being putting up impressive stats in the league such as 11.3 points per game, 11.8 rebounds per game and 1.3 blocks per game for the Ottawa Nationals.

Lindsay is a good sized Centre that shows a nice touch off the glass when completing in the paint. Although she will need to continue to build her post game and recognize the potential of her strength, she certainly has the potential to take her game to the next level in CIS play.

Charles went on to speak highly of the new recruit that will be joining his Ottawa area team by saying,“Heather is a great defensive rebounder and will make players around her even better with her ability to control the paint. Also in time, she will be able to be someone who can score with her back to the basket on the offensive end.”
