Aaliyah Arab-Smith of Halifax, NS has decided to move back home and transfer prep schools. She will attend her hometown’s King’s-Edgehill School in September.

Two years ago, Arab-Smith had made the bold move as a high school freshman to attend TRC Academy, some 1,900 km away from home, in Brantford, ON.

In her time with the TRC Wolfpack, the hungry Guard made the most of her opportunities with a continued development that has made her a sought after recruit and the target of several post secondary schools.

In a release sent out by KES head coach, Mark Ffrench, he is anxious to deal with a player of such potential.

“Aliyah is a special young person and will be a key to our total performance as a basketball program. A born leader, an excellent student, but more importantly, one of the nicest caring and giving young people I have ever met in my entire coaching career”.

One of the key indicators of Arab-Smith’s progress at TRC was a signature 26 point, 8 rebound performance in the playoffs last season against Durham Elite. Her efforts included a dramatic last second 3-pointer to send the game to overtime.
