Clarke To Play in the MAC In The Fall
Teniesha Clarke of Burlington, ON has committed to attend the University of Akron to play with the Zips in the Mid-American Conference of the NCAA next Fall.
Clarke was a key member of the Ontario Scholastic Basketball prep league Playoff Runner-ups, Niagara Prep this past school season. Her ability to play inside and out was a huge asset. She could play the role of a bigger Guard with her ability to put the ball of the floor and use her size to run downhill towards the basket, while utilizing her ability to connect from mid and longer ranges if necessary. In the Post, she is able to leverage her strength to establish good position on the low block and make good decisions when stationed with the ball in the high post. Not shying away from contact, defenders in each scenario would have to not only deal with her contact, but also her being quite nimble and quick.
Last Summer, Clarke played in the EYBL with the Kia Nurse Elite 17s. And, she rounded out her prep career by participating in the BioSteel All-Canadian Basketball game back in March of this year. The all-star game features 24 of the top prep level basketball players in the country in a game that is televised nationally.
