Laura Donovan (3-stars, 5’11”, G/F, Southwest Academy, 2018) of London, ON has committed to attend Usports’ Queen’s University next Fall.

Donovan, who now plays with Southwest Academy of the OSBA prep league, has seen her game game peak as of late. She is playing with a renewed confidence which is translating to good things on bother side of the court during games. Her length and ability plus this renewed mindset has seen her be more offensive minded, resulting in more successful drives to the basket, and more accurate shooting from long range, to go along with additional poise when she has the ball in hand and is contributing to the running of her team’s offence. To go along with this she is a go-getter on the glass, showing the hustle coaches like to see.

With the commitment, Donovan completes a journey that saw her fully develop in the London Ramblers’ rep system, and even win an Ontario High School Championship (OFSAA 3A) last year as a member of the A.B. Lucas Vikings Gold medal winning team, before making the transition over to Southwest Academy for this, her final year. To her credit, Donovan has also received several invites to Canada Basketball Assessment Camps to tryout for Canada’s national under age teams.

Queen’s University, located in Kingston, ON, is currently ranked second in the OUA East division with a 9-1 record.
