Ella Johnson of Saskatoon, SK, has committed to attend the University of Victoria for the Fall of 2017.

Johnson is a top 15 ranked Point Guard who uses speed and the ability to score, to open up passing lanes for her teammates with her pass first mindset. Although she is short in stature, her game speaks big as she did on her successful run these past few summers with Team Saskatchewan, including the summer of 2016 where they earned a Bronze Medal. Her hard work has got her on the radar of Canada Basketball who has invited her to their assessment camp as recently as this past December.

Via University of Victoria’s website, Vikes’ Head Coach, Dani Sinclair is looking forward to the tools that Johnson will be bringing to her squad.

“Ella has a good understanding of the game and sees the floor well,” said Sinclair. “She’s a great passer but also a good scorer herself, that can both shoot the ball and attack off the dribble.”

The Vikes are currently in sixth place in CIS’ Canada West and have clinched a spot in this season’s playoffs.
