Emma Fraser (2.5-stars, F, Northern SS, North Toronto Huskies) of Toronto, ON has signed her intention will stay home and play for the Ryerson Rams in the Fall of 2016.

“We are very excited to add Emma as Ram”, said Ryerson Head Coach, Carly Clarke.

Fraser is a Forward with a wealth of experience including representing her province at the Canadian Nationals, and winning an Ontario high school (OFSAA) Consolation Championship.

Her length and upper body strength will be an asset for the Rams as she will her then some extra possessions rebounding the ball. She is also willing to sacrifice her body by standing in and taking charges. Her longer term value to the Rams, may stem in her ability to develop a stronger base and cultivate a more fiery mentality, making sure her presence is made known at key moments when she plays. A feat not too unrealistic, working under a coach with National Team experience and skill as Rams Head Coach, Carly Clarke.

“Beyond demonstrating her talent on the court,” elaborated Clarke, “Emma is incredibly hard working, and strives for excellence on and off the court – characteristics we seek in all our student-athletes at Ryerson.”

“Her IQ, competitiveness and offensive potential, and desire to improve are all things we love about Emma.”

Fraser decided on Ryerson, after taking an in depth look around the campus back in August. In joining the Rams, the perspective English or Media Major will be joining a team that had their best ever finish last year, good enough for second in the OUA and a birth at the CIS Final 8, the first for the school’s women’s basketball program.
