Players that showed well at Under Armour, Spooky Nook, April 21 – 23, 2023

Silvano Maldonaldo was outstanding. She was able to score from all 3 phases (3 point, pull up mid range, and finishing at the rim). In addition, her effort on the defensive side was game changing. Miss. Maldonaldo consistently kept her check out of the paint. She also was willing to take a charge. She is not afraid of the moment or competition. She believes in her coaching and training and it shows.

Beta Musa had many excited with her ability to run the floor and aggressively challenge shots in her area. Although, her foot work is a working process, she makes her layups. This year will tell how much she wants to be great. She reminds me of All Big Ten Freshmen team member Serah Williams, University of Wisconsin.

Simiran Lail has been waiting patiently for her time to show the world her abilities. She makes shots off the dribble and showed strong ball handling skills. She needs to continue to get quicker on her perimeter defense.

Anastasija Veljovic is a definite NCAA D1 athlete. Her athleticism is Power Five level and her skills are improving. She consistently got to the hoop. In addition, her strength also showed. She is a very hard worker on both sides of the hoop.

Deniya Prawl was extremely confident offensively. Her high level back down turn around jumper go to move was unstoppable. She was the best offensive player on the floor in most of her games. She has the ability to be a shut down defender if she puts her mind to it.

Keyrah Gregory is very strong compact guard with a good first step and a high level best crossover move. She had a great game were she brought her team back with two and one plays with under two minutes in the game. She was also very good in the open floor.

Sarah Reid has been taught offence extremely well. She also possesses a good back down jumper move from the mid range. She will also rebound offensively. She showed the ability to score in bunches as well. Her shooting stroke is pure and consistent.

Kimara Pollydore is a consistent mid range pull jump away from being one of the better point guards in her class. She shows a very good understanding of the game while she defends on the ball well. She rarely turned over the ball. In addition, she doesn’t show fear.

Amibola Adewumi plays every play as if it’s her last. She shot the ball confidently from mid range and 3 point land. Defensively she showed the ability to guard the perimeter well. Miss. Adewumi showed high level athleticism. Her hunger showed every second she was on the floor.

Nyadieng Yiech is a physical and long Power 5 type player. She was a very difficult check for her opponents due to her ability to finish in the open floor. She showed the ability to shoot from the 3 point line. When she learns to consistently punish smaller defenders in the post her scoring numbers will grow even more.
