Iziegbe (Lorraine) Enabulele (6’2″, F, Notre Dame) of Ajax, ON has committed to the University of Kansas for the Fall of 2014.

Enabulele’s verbal commitment to the Big 12 conference school was made on May 9, 2014.

She’s glad to of had the chance to alleviate herself of the burden of making the stressful decision, and is ready to take on the riggers that will come with playing in such a tough conference with the Jayhawks.

“I’m feeling good…and relieved. I’m ready to go to work, get better and I accept the challenge.”

Enabulele is a solidly built, strong presence in the paint. She has shot blocking ability and can really get after any rebound she puts her mind to.

Pittsburgh, Dayton, Virginia Tech and LSU among the last of the schools that she had considered before providing the verbal commitment.

“I felt like Kansas was the best fit where I can be better, and be pushed. In order to be the best, you have to work with the best,” Enabulele said with an eye on her future development.

“I know it going to be hard, but I really want to get to the next level. I really want to push myself, so Kansas was the best choice.”

Although the Lawrence, KS school had an obvious aesthetic lure to her, the Ajax, ON Forward said that it was the connection that she made with the staff and future teammates that was the clincher for her.

And with the amount of time that she will be spending with her new, school family, away from her brothers and parents, cohesion was something that was important to her.

“The campus was obviously beautiful, but the coaching staff and the girls were definitely people that want you to get better. They push you, they’re open and they’re flexible.”

Enabulele would like to pursue a career in Business and more specifically, Finance in the as a Major.

As she puts the finishing touches to her game between now and when she will have to report to campus, she will be ensuring that her training regiment is one that will see her continue to log many hours in the gyms.

“I’m definitely going to be in the gym every day working on my weaknesses. I need to go hard and just be prepared. I am going to be as prepared as I can.”
