Hailey Brown, Shaina Pellington and Roxanne Makolo were selected to participate at the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp during the recent NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans.

The three players represented Canada during the Camp that took place between February 17-19.

The camp was led by many in the NBA leadership ranks, including the Toronto Raptor’s President, Masai Ujiri, who served as Camp Director.

The agenda for the campers was to expose the attendees to a variety of activities on and off the court, including movement efficiency, positional skill development, shooting and skills competitions, 5-on-5 games, and daily life skills seminars focusing on health, leadership and communication.

The attending campers, including those from the adjoining boys’ camp, were treated with the opportunity to take in some of the NBA All-Star festivities including BBVA Rising Stars Challenge that took place on February 17. There, they were able to watch fellow Canadian, Jamal Murray, honoured as that game’s MVP.

The camp was the second of its kind for Brown, Pellington and Makolo. Each attended the similar 2016 camp that was held in Toronto, ON, during last year’s All-Star Weekend.
