Nicole Bus (3-stars, 6’0″, F, Northern SS, 2016) of Brights Grove, ON has signed her NLI commitment to attend Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT.

“Playing university ball has been a dream of mine for so long, and it felt amazing that the hard work was really paying off”, said Bus when realizing all the culmination of her effort she has put in over the years.

During the recruiting process Bus determined that academics, along with the on court product were two of the top things she would consider.

“I fell in love with the campus the moment I stepped foot on it. The campus itself is absolutely beautiful, and so is the city of Fairfield. Academically, it’s a very strong school.”

Fairfield finished third in the MAAC (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) and have aspirations for bigger and better things this year and perhaps beyond.

“The team is projected to win their conference this year, and the coaching staff is incredible. I knew that by choosing Fairfield, I was choosing to surround myself with first class people. I couldn’t ask for more than that.”

Bus’ contribution when she gets to the team will be one where she can provide a good rebounding presence, which she does instinctually. She can routinely convert the rebounds she collects and can shoot from 5 or so feet away from the basket. Solidly built, she is able establish position well on the block and yet is still able to run the floor rather easily.

Bus, who will be looking to study Biology and Pre-Medical Sciences, was elated to have been able to reach this milestone.

“When you finally achieve something that you’ve spent countless hours working for, it’s a feeling that can hardly be put into words. I’ve had such an amazing support staff. As exciting as this was for me, I was so happy to be able to share it with my family, friends and coaches.”
