On September 17, 2015 Bridget Mulholland of Kingston, ON announced her decision to attend Queen’s University and become a Golden Gael.

“I want to be a part of greatness, and I know Queens is where I’m going to find it,” said Mulholland via press release.

Mulholland was ranked #7 in Class of 2016 as a part of our recent Labor Day Rankings. She is an extremely hard worker and consistently puts her body on the line while playing. She is fearless when it comes to playing through contact, is usually the first on the floor diving for loose balls and will stand in to take charges.

There is no doubt that with her addition to the Golden Gaels, Mulholland boosts their chances tremendously at an elusive Queen’s OUA title.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have a player of Bridget’s character and calibre join our basketball family,” said Gaels head coach Dave Wilson.

“As our basketball program continues its climb towards a National Championship, Bridget will not only be an integral component, she will be a catalyst that accelerates that climb.”

Mulholland is coming off of a Gold Medal performance with Team Ontario at the Canadian Nationals, and a good showing as well with them early in July at the Nike Invitational Tournament in Chicago.

Prior to what amounted to a very good summer, Mulholland was very much a shining star for the Kingston Impact of the JUEL League. Statistically, she landed among the top 11 in several player stat categories that included points per game (13.2), free-throw average(78%), rebounds per game (9.9), steals (2.9) and blocks (1.3).

Because of her high level of play she was highly recruited before ultimately deciding to stay home to pursues her post secondary education.

“I chose Queens because of the special opportunity it can provide me that is unmatched by anywhere else,” said Mulholland

“The chance to be surrounded every day by people who will push me to my limits, people who support me and my dreams, and people who will fight with me to achieve our goals is priceless and inspires me to work my hardest.”
