Tumba To Become A Panther Next Year
Divine Tumba of Montreal, QC has given a verbal commitment to attend the University of Pittsburgh next season.
Tumba is physical player that is reminiscent of old school posts. She is very familiar with the low post, where she has the most impact on the games she plays. She has a variety of moves with her back to the basket and routinely uses counters when she sees the need. Although of late there appears to be some expansion of her game to be more face-up in nature, her bread and butter is being able to penetrate deep in the pain and play through contact, which she does quite well.
As an official member of the U18 Canadian National Women’s team, Tumba put up big numbers in several games including 9 points and 10 rebounds against Argentina, 16 points and 6 rebounds against the Dominican Republic and 15 and 12 against hosts Columbia this summer at the FIBA Americas in June.
Tumba is finishing up her Senior year at Royal Crown Academy in Toronto, ON.
