Western Canada Wins Back-To-Back Alberta 4A Girls Titles

On March 18, 2012, the Western Canada Redmen became back-to-back, Alberta 4A Champions, with their 74-63 victory over the Centennial Coyotes.

In winning the ASAA High School Provincials Gold Medal game, Western Canada was led in scoring by Madeleine Rogers (5’10, G/F, 2012) who scored 20 points. Arizona State commit, Isidora Purkovic (5’11”, G, 2012) made her impact and was a key component to her team’s success. Purkovic scored 18 points in the Finals’ win, to go along with Susan Thompson’s 13 (F, 2012).

The Coyotes, who along with Western Canada were the two provincial representatives from Calgary, were led in scoring by Montana Romeril (G, 2012), averaged over 20 points throughout the Championships.  She scored 19 in the Gold Medal game, while Centennial also recieved 14 points from both Kassie Chomyn (G, 2012) and Alexa Gray, all in the losing effort.

The Redmen, who averaged more than 76 points per game, were dominant in their in their victories throughout these Provincials.  They won each of their games by double digits and an average of more than 28 points.
