Zayn Dornstauder of Regina, SK has signed her Letter of Intent to accept a scholarship and play for the University of San Francisco Lady Dons of the West Coast Conference.

Dornstauder played her first three seasons of high school basketball at Leboldus high school while in Regina. While there, she won a 5A provincial championship in 2013 and earned a provincial All-Star selection in 2014. For her Senior year, she transferred to Hamilton High School in Chandler, AZ.

“Zayn’s experience in the Canadian National Team program has helped her develop,” said Lady Dons Head Coach, Jennifer Azzi via press release, referring to Dornstauder’s several Canada Basketball – National Assessment Camp invites, “And I think the year spent at Hamilton High School in Arizona provided great experience here in the U.S.”

The expectant coach went on to say,

“We look forward to her arrival on campus and I know our fans will love watching her play.”

Lady Dons fans can expect a Post with long reach that has the ability to get up and down the floor quickly. Dornstauder has a pretty good back to the basket game when she gets the ball in the low post and has some success with a trusty right hand hook shot.

With this commitment, Zayn joins older sister Quinn at the NCAA D1 basketball level. Quinn, who is also a Post, has just completed her Sophomore season at Arizona State University.
