8th Ranked Lord Tweedsmuir Claim Their First Ever BC AAA ‘Ship

On March 4, 2017, the Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers of Surrey, BC has claimed the 2017 BC AAA provincial High School Championships after defeating the Abbotsford Panthers by a score of 67-57.

Lord Tweedsmuir overcame sizeable odds as the eighth ranked team in the 16 team provincial championships, including defeating the top ranked Oak Bay Breakers (81-78), fifth ranked Panorama Ridge (66-64) before earning the right to play in the Finals against the second ranked team from Abbotsford.

To help her team earn the victory, Maryn Budiman, the ultimate Provincials’ MVP, netted 25 points while fellow Panther, Shelvin Grewal, scored 16 in the win.
