BUZZ: Holy Names Wins Fanshawe Tournament

On Saturday, October 19, 2013 the Holy Names Knight (Windsor, ON) defeated the John McGregor Panthers (Chatham, ON) by a score of 45-32 to win the Fanshawe College Sr Girls Basketball Tournament.

The London, ON tournament saw the Knights handily win their first two games with wins over Saunders and RMC both from London, ON. In the semi-finals Holy Names met up with the St Michael Thunder from Bolton, who gave them their closest result, but still saw the Knights prevail 53-42.

On the way to the Championship Finals, the McGregor Panthers had defeated Oakridge (London, ON), Ressurection (Kitchener, ON) and St Thomas Villanova before succumbing to Holy Names.

In the Consolation Finals, the Oakridge defeated the Saunders Tigers 29-17 to take the Consolation honours.
