BUZZ: Centennial Cougars Win Welland Tribune Tournament

On October 19, 2013, the Centennial Cougars (Welland, ON) defeated the St Francis Phoenix (St Catharines, ON) in the Finals of the Tribune Tournament Championship 53-27.

Centennial’s Bridget Atkinson was named tournament MVP, scoring 18 points in the Final, leading the Cougars to avenge their loss to St Francis, only a week earlier in the Finals of the Standard Girls High School Girls Basketball Tournament.

Atkinson’s teammate, Rebeccah Fuaco earned the tournament’s Outstanding Defensive Player award in the win, while the Cougars’ Sarah Holes was also named to the tournament’s First All-Star Team.
