Gibb Turns Heads Averaging 16 Points at ‘21 FIBA Americas

Delaney Gibb of Raymond, AB averaged 16 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in helping Team Canada to a Silver Medal performance at the 2021 FIBA U16 Americas Women’s Championship held in Guanajuato, Mexico.

The standout of Gibb’s 5-game performances was a 23 point tally against Puerto Rica. She shot 9/17 from the field including 5-for-10 from the 3-point line. In that game she also collected 11 rebounds while adding 3 assists and a couple of steals and blocked shots.

Gibb also scored 15 points against Chile, while scoring 14 points in each game against Brazil, Costa Rico and Argentina. Box score details against Canada’s game against the United States were not available at the time of this article.

This event was Gibb’s first time representing her country internationally.
