Kayah Clarke Named Top Player In JUEL All-Star Game
On May 23, 2015, in the JUEL All-Star Game, the Junior defeated the Seniors by a score of 62-60.
All-Star Game MVP, Kayah Clarke, led her team of standout Grade 11s from the JUEL rep league, with 11 points. All of her scoring came in the second half after her team went into the halftime break down by 8.
The bulk of the scoring took place in the fourth quarter for the Juniors, as the younger squad poured in 24 points in a balanced attack where Alyssa Jerome scoring four of her total 8 points.
But, the decisive play in the final frame was Clarke’s. She drove to the basket and scored to break the 60-60 deadlocked score with 2.1 seconds remaining in the game, to give her team the ultimate 2-point win.
The Senior team was led in scoring by Bridget Carleton, who led all scorers with 17 despite her team falling short.
The game took place at Ryerson University in downtown Toronto, ON.
