Prosper Leads Canada To Silver at ‘21 FIBA Americas

Cassandre Prosper of Rosemère, QC led all scorers at the 2021 FIBA U16 Americas Women’s Championship held in Guanajuato, Mexico.

Prosper had her coming out party through the International competition with 18.6 points per game, to go along with a third best 10.6 rebounds per game while also helping out with 3 assists per game.

The 6’2”, ‘play any position’, Canadian the set tone early in the competition with back-to back 24 point games against Brazil and Costa Rica, while defensively adding 4 and 5 steals in those games respectively. In the Quarter-Finals against Chile, she scored 21 and had 16 rebounds in an all too familiar standout performance.

Besides points per game, Prosper finished in the top-10 in field goal percentage, free throw percentage, rebounds, blocks, assists and steals.

Along with leading Canada to a Silver medal, Prosper was named to the tournament’s All-Star Five for her efforts.
