After racing out to a 33-15 lead, the London Ramblers prevailed with a 60-44 JUEL win over the Ottawa Capitals in JUEL, Session 3 action.

The Ramblers got off to their hot start with five First Half 3-pointers, including 2 from Mackenzie Puklicz (5’8″, G/F, 2013). The long distance shooting success helped the league leaders in 3-pointers made, to enjoy a comfortable 35-20 Halftime lead.

It was smooth sailing into the Third Quarter until Katelyn Carriere (5’8″, G, 2012), who had been doing a great job distributing the ball from the point for the Ramblers, found herslf into foul trouble and was forced to to the bench.

The Capitals’ Catherine Traer, after being limited to 5 First Half points, was more successful in the Second Half.  She scored 8, helping to chip away at the Rambler lead.

In the end, the London Rambler cushion proved to be too much as they eventually regained momentum and rode it out for the win.

Puklicz, who is a sixth man and has now connected on nine 3-pointers in the Ramblers’ three league games, scored 17 points in this one and has improved on her previous 13.5PPG average. Danielle Carriere (5’9″, G/F, 2012), scored 10, including two 3-pointers.

The Ottawa Capitals were led in scoring by Catherine Traer, who scored 13 points and was 6-9 from the FT line.

London moved to 3-0 on the season and Ottawa fell to 1-2.
