Ash-Smith Commits to Appalachian State

Mackenzie Ash-Smith (3.5-stars, F, Dawson/TW Bluehounds, 2020) of Montreal, QC has committed to attend Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.

Ash-Smith is the type of player that can do many things quite well. With her strength and size, she is no stranger to earning good defensive stats. She is a very good shot blocker and rebounds the ball quite well and also posses a knack for turning her opponents over with quick hands and timing for steals. On the offensive side of the floor, she makes her home in the high post, and is quick to take a mismatch down low for a post up opportunity.

Ash-Smith has been a solid contributor to Dawson since her arrival there, through till the present. This year through Dawson’s first four undefeated games she is averaging a staggering 17.8 points and 15.8 rebounds per game. She has also contributed 1.8 steals and just as many blocks per game as the Blues have jumped out as the team to beat in Quebec CÉGEP action.
