Abigail Fogg (6’4″, F/C, Korah) has announced that she has signed a Letter of Intent to attend American University in Washington, DC next fall.

Fogg is a long 6’4″ Big that is a not afraid to jockey for position in the paint and instinctively puts a body opponents on both ends of the floor when shots are up and she’s looking to rebound.  She uses her length well and continues to show great on-going improvement in the fluidity of her basketball movements since only recently being introduced to the game of basketball.

“I believe I will be able to bring my height and athleticism,” she said when contemplating how she would fit in with the American U Eagles next year. “I will add to their fast pace game style, which is the style I love to play.”

Fogg had also received interest from the University of Pennsylvania, Canisius and Kent.  But, it was American University’s reputation in the academics realm along with how competitive the team is in the Patriot League were very influencial in Fogg’s decision making.  “They are a reputable school and they are very competitive in their conference.  I also found that I really connected with the girls and the coaching staff.”

For now, American U’s newest Eagle will look to continue to build on a Korah’s perfect high school record this year. For the first time in their school’s history they finished with a perfect 12-0 record and went on to claim the Sault Ste Marie city Championships, earning themselves a birth to OFSAA (Ontario Provincials).

“After the high school season I plan on playing JUEL for Team North,” Fogg went on to say when considering whats next.  She plans on using her time in the Rep league this upcoming season to continue working on becoming a stronger player.  Targetting offensive game play involving with her back to the basket is among some of the aspects of her game she is looking to ready herself for, in preparations for what waits for next season.
