Madalyn Anderson (5’10”, W, J. Addison/Advantage Titans, 3-stars) of Whitby, ON has committed to attend North Carolina Central, which participates in NCAA’s Division 1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

“It had been a long process trying to figure out which school I wanted to go to.
It’s been so long and so hard”, said Anderson when CROWN interviewed her.

“I’ve finally made the decision and I’m really, really excited for it.”

Anderson identified the feeling that she had when she went on her visit as the one that fostered a family-like atmosphere that impacted her decision.

“As soon as I stepped on campus and met everybody, I just knew it was a good, family-like environment.”

“Everybody is close. The coaches are close with the players…everybody was just so kind when I was first meeting them. I loved the coaches and players. They’re awesome.”

Anderson is a pure shooter and among the best shooters in the Canadian Class of 2019. She has the ability to not only get her shot off rather quickly, but to routinely slip into ideal passing lanes making her all the more deadly in games. In an effort to add more to her game, she has done well to leverage the respect she’s earned on the perimeter, to put the ball on floor and user her defender’s misdirection to drive to score or to dish, a trait that will bode well at the next level.

Anderson will be looking to Major in Kinesiology when she begins university.

Anderson took the time to thank her Dad, among others, for helping her through the journey, as she looks forward to this next major step.

“Definitely my Dad. My Dad, and the rest of my family have been so supportive and they are constantly encouraging me to do my best. Also Coach YC (Chris Francis), Coach Coach Chris Smalling and the rest of the Advantage family because without them, I couldn’t have done it.”
