Fournier (‘24) Headed To Duke

Toby Fournier of Toronto, ON has announced her verbal commitment to attend Duke University next year.

The future Blue Devil and top prospect in the Canadian Class of 2024, has been steadily making a name for herself since she entered high school with her play above the rim. But, when broken down, there is quite a lot more to like about her game. She is versatile around the offensive glass with a couple different ways to score, which include a variety of fakes and use of her pivot foot to attain different angles to consider to scoring. Because of this, Fournier is deadly within five feet of the basket, when also coupling a good shooting touch and leaping ability when shot are timed at the top of her vertical jump. That same ability to get up in the air, when added to a good anticipation of the ball coming off the rim and her size and reach, have galvanized her rebounding ability to be among the best seen here in Canada for a very long time and has often been a key reason for the success of any of the teams she plays with.

Fournier will be completing her Senior year at Crestwood Prep, where the Lions captured this past season’s OSBA Prep league title, while claiming the award for Playoff MVP. This summer she is playing with Kia Nurse Elite 17s on the EYBL circuit, but that will take a back seat to her duties for the upcoming FIBA World Championships this year taking place in Spain.
