Gooden (‘22) To Play With Hofstra

Published

on

Alarice Gooden (5’7”, PG, J. Addison/Brampton Warriors/Kia Nurse Elite) of Brampton, ON has signed a Letter of Intent to attend Hofstra University as a 2022 high school grad.

Gooden had considered reclassifying and returning for an additional high school year before making her decision to leave now and attend the Long Island, NY post secondary school.

Gooden has been diligent in her work ethic and has improved her game in a variety of ways. She has always prided herself defensively on being a handful for offensive opponents, making scoring chances difficult for those she faced. Finding ways to contribute to her teams’ success in just about any way she could, she regularly sacrificed her body through contact or getting on the floor for loose balls.

Over the past year or so, she has found confidence in pushing the pace of the game and driving to the hole at the right moments in order to pose as more of an offensive threat. The Hofstra Pride can expect her to be diligent in taking care of the ball in transition and get the ball into the right hands of teammates when setting up the offense, when she suits up in the Hofstra blue and gold this Fall.

After completing her last year at J. Addison in the OSBA Prep league, Gooden was a First Team All-Star in JUEL Rep League, was named the Canletes All-Star game MVP and played the point on the Kia Nurse Elite U17 EYBL team this summer season.
