Hannah Brown (6’1″, P, Memorial, 2014) of North Sydney, NS has decided to make her commitment to Cape Breton University of the AUS.

“I just kept thinking back to all those times I sat behind the Capers bench and watched them play,” said Brown via press release.

“I’ve watched the success and the great players who have gone through the program so it really was the best choice for me.”

Brown is a hustler. She is active on the boards and is no slouch getting up and down the floor. Fairly nimble, Brown makes good split second decisions, whether it means side stepping opponents or positioning herself for optimal rebounding.

All that she comes pre-packaged with even before she dawns Cape Breton orange.

Capers Head Coach Fabian McKenzie recognizes the magnitude of the recruit that he just landed.

“Hannah was a highly sought recruit in this year’s class and I am very excited she has chosen CBU and our basketball program,” he said also via release.

“She brings a tremendous work ethic and will be an immediate physical presence in the paint. She has a wide range of skills and brings a lot of versatility to our lineup.”

Landing this commitment to go alongside current Freshman, Alison Keough who already is averaging per game sets the Capers up in a good position for years to come.

Brown, who plans to pursue Science is confident she’s made the best decision.

“And I’m getting a great coach who will set me up for success and make me the best player and person he can,” she added.
