On February 6, 2014 Kennisha-Shanice Luberisse (5’8″, G, Montmorency, 2014), of Repetingy, QC committed to attend St Mary’s University in Halifax, NS this Fall.

“Kennisha has been very well coached,” said St Mary’s Head Coach Scott Munro, undoubtedly referring to Luberrisse’s basketball tutelage which includes successes with the St Laurent Express in high school, and a CCAA, National Championship with the Montmorency Nomades of Montreal, QC. “[She] understands what it takes to win. Kennisha will be a great asset to the Huskies program in the fall. We are very excited she is joining us.”

Luberisse is Guard with long limbs that has shown good ability to get to the hoop consistently. She is very nimble and with her athleticism is able to make a lot of good things happen on both ends of the floor.

These and a lot of other skills that Luberisse brings to the table, will definitely be a will welcomed with open arms by Coach Munro.

“Kennisha will be able to have an impact with the Huskies immediately I believe. She is an outstanding defender who is a great finisher out on the fast break as well. Her skill set will fit very well with what we hope to do,” believes Munro.

Luberisse was a 2013 CÉGEP playoff All-Star and looks destined to return to the playoffs with her first place Nomades. She makes this commitment at a time when the Huskies are the second ranked team in the country and is a Top-30 prospect in her class.

Luberisse plans on Majoring in Commerce.
