Sumer Lee of Milton, ON has verbally committed to attend DePaul University in Chicago, IL.

Lee is a strong 5’10” Guard that has built a bit of a reputation for being a tough two-way player that competes. She has always been diligent on the defensive end of the floor, showing that she can guard a number of positions. While number enough to keep up with quick and speedy Guards, she can more than hold her own against big Forwards by leveraging her strength and fight. Since her debut with the Kia Nurse Elite U16 EYBL last summer, and into the transition she made when she transferred to Crestwood last Fall, Lee has seemed to come out of her shell and found the esteem needed to be a consistent offensive threat that defences need to be aware of at all times. Now, finding ways to get to the basket or stretching the defence from longer ranges are much more effortless.

After the Prep school season, Lee earned a First-Team JUEL rep league All-Star award while playing for the Brampton Warriors. She then transitioned to the Kia Nurse Elite EYBL U17 team prior to taking a break with them in order to fulfil her National Team duties, representing her country for the second time.

Earlier this month, she represented Canada at the 2022 FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Debrecen, Hungary. There she averaged 5.3 points along with a couple of rebounds per game, including a 14 point, 4 rebound game against South Korea.
