Roxane Makolo (5’9″, G, Dawson/TW Bluehounds) from Montreal, QC has committed to attend Purdue University of NCAA’s Big 10 Conference for the Fall 2019.

As a part of her decision Makolo will be brining with her a ton of international experience with her to the Boilermakers along with a winning pedigree.

Having represented her country in the past several summers playing on the Canadian National Team, Makolo was among the elite Guards still left on the board as a part of the Class of 2019.

Makolo is an athletic Guard, that enjoys working from the corner beyond the 3-point line. Whether benefitting from backdoor cuts, or countering a closeout from a defender, Makolo has found a lot of success being able to pull-up from the short corner or from her ability to finish at the rim.

Her accomplishments with the Dawson Blues have been numerous including earning Rookie of the Year, several player of the week awards and back-to-back league First Team All-Star honours. While also earning recognition as a CCAA All-Canadian in 2018 and 2019, she helped to lead Dawson to Provincial Championships in those same years. Proving that she has a winning mentality, her career so far could partially be highlighted by her Blues’ 2018 National title win.

For much of this past school year, Makolo had contemplated returning again for another year at Dawson, but towards the end of the year, she made up her mind that that she was ready to make the jump to university, ultimately leading to her decision with the Boilermakers of West Lafayette, IN.

The decision allows for a bit of a home away from home for Makolo, who will be joining fellow Montrealers, Tamara Farquhar and Leony Boudreau, who also played at Dawson before Purdue.
