Reece Mungar

Reece Mungar (3-stars, 6’1″, Wing, Bishop Ryan/Hamilton Transway, 2017) of Stoney Creek, ON has signed her National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Northern Kentucky of NCAA’s Horizon League Conference.

“I’m extremely excited,” Mungar said in an interview with the Hamilton Wentworth School Board. “I can’t wait.”

“My strength in rebounding and grabbing the ball underneath the basket has improved,” Mungar went on to say. “I’ve been focusing a lot on weightlifting. I think that has helped my game.”

Along with Mungar’s increased strength and balance, which has allowed her to improver her finishing through contact, she will be bringing her long range shooting ability to the Highland Heights, Kentucky school. She has always had the ability to get up and down the floor well, and her hustle will not allow her to continually give 100% when on the floor.

Mungar had a great summer on the AAU circuit this past July with Blue Star Ontario. She had appeared to be peaking at just the right time in her development and turned many heads especially at the USJN DC event towards the end of that month.

The 6’1″ Wing is leaning towards majoring in Psychology and has career aspirations of eventually becoming a firefighter.
