Canadian Junior Women National Team Roster Announced

Canada Basketball has released its Junior Women’s National Team (JWNT) roster that will compete in the upcoming FIBA Americas taking place from August 6-10, 2014 in Colorado Springs, CO.

JWNT Head Coach, Rich Chambers, said on behalf of his coaching staff they “were very excited with the team that has been selected, as they are extremely hardworking and they love to play the game.”

Among the players selected to the U18 team, several remain uncommitted to universities, offering up yet another chance for them to showcase their skills on an international stage.

When play starts, Canada will find themselves in Group A, who will also have El Salvador, Mexico and the hosts, United States.

The complete 2014 Canadian Junior Women National Team roster is as follows:

Rachel Fradgley, Forward, 6’2″, committed to Simon Fraser

Linnaea Harper, Forward, 6’0″, committed to McMaster
Barbara Johnson, Guard, 5’6″, uncommitted 2015
Nancy Kessler, Post, 6’3″, committed to Toledo

July 29, 2014 Update: Due to an injury to Lauren Yearwood, Julia Chandler (6’2″, F, uncommitted 2015) has been added to the roster.
