Canadian U18s Win Silver at FIBA Americas 3×3

On September 1, 2013, the Canadian U18s claimed the Silver Medal at the 2013 FIBA Americas 3×3 Championships in Washington, D.C.

With the tournament’s action starting on August 31, the team, comprised of Shay Colley, Daneesha Provo, Eternati Willock and Shantelle Valentine, went 2-1 in the Preliminary round. They would go on to win their Semi-Final before succumbing to the USA in a tight loss.

Canada will now look to build upon the momentum gathered in this event to propel them to a likely birth in the 2013 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Championship taking place September 26-29th in Jakarta, Indonesia. Canada is aiming for their third appearance at the World Championships with the qualification of the event’s three year history.
