Gibb (’24) Commits To Cougars
Delaney Gibb (5’10”, PG, Raymond High School, 2024) of Raymond, AB has committed to attend Brigham Young University in Provo, UT in the Fall of 2024.
Gibb’s name almost certainly has to be brought up whenever there is a discussion about the top Point Guard in Canada for the Class of 2024. After making a splash at the 2019 Canadian National Championships, where as an 8th grader she earned a spot on the tournament’s First Team All-Star roster, her star was pointed directly towards being a top recruit and as it turns out, she did not disappoint.
After making the jump to high school, she avoided any downtime by refining her skills during the COVID shut down in Canada, by leaving home to play at Timpville High School in Timpville, UT. There, her stock continued to climb. Gibb has since played her summer travel ball with Kia Nurse Elite on the the EYBL circuit for the past couple of summers, which allowed her to match up against many of the best in North America, and she has more than been able to hold her own, on or off ball, as a Guard that can score in bunches and showing that she can do so in different ways and from different ranges.
Gibb has also been a perennial Canadian National Team member with this summer being no different. She is almost certain to represent her country at the U19 level in Spain next month. The 5’10” Guard also participated in the 2021 U16 FIBA Americas Championships in Argentina for Canada, and again at the FIBA World Championships in Hungary last summer, where she averaged 9.6 points and 3.3 assists in almost 24 minutes played per game.
