Grace Wade To Join UNB

On January 23, 2013, the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds announced that they have landed one of New Brunswick’s top prospects in Grace Wade (5’7″, PG, Bernice MacNaughton, 2013).

Wade is a crafty Guard from Moncton, NB that does a good job seeing the floor. She has excellent handles and moves well laterally, most noticeably on defence.

At 2012 Canadian Nationals, Wade was selected as a Second Team All-Star, while there representing Team New Brunswick. She was also invited to both the 2012 National Junior/Cadette Assessment Camps in hopes of being selected to represent Canada at FIBA international competitions.

“Grace is going to have an immediate impact on our program”, said Varsity Reds Head Coach, Jeff Speedy. “She’s a complete player who does everything well and on top of that, she is a fantastic person. I’m very excited to have her commit to our Varsity Reds program and can’t wait to coach her for the next five years.”
