On December 10, 2011, the Humboldt Vikings defended home court in winning their home tournament, the Humboldt Senior Girls Tournament.

University of Utah commit, Paige Crozon helped guide her squad average 34ppg over the tournament’s three games.

Although the Vikings’ Coach, Kerri Archibald was pleased with Crozon’s play, she also had praise for the rest of her team as well. “Paige played well. Although our last game was a bit closer and I wasn’t able to go too deep into the bench, the bench girls played well in this tournament. I was able to get them a lot of minutes in the first two games and I was happy about that.”

Along with Crozon, teammate Lindsay Larson also scored the ball well. She averaged just over 20ppg helping the duo to contribute the lion’s share of Humboldt’s scoring.

On their way to winning their school’s tournament, Humboldt defeated Wynyard 72-30 (Paige Crozon 32 pts. Lindsey Larson 19 pts), Clavet 70-35 (Paige Crozon 26 pts. Lindsey Larson 19 pts) and took the Final by beating Lumsden 88-60 (Paige Crozon 44 pts. Lindsey Larson 24 pts. Susanne Skulsi 13 pts).

“The season so far has been going great. We have been in three tournaments so far, and this is our third win also,” says Vikings’ Coach, Kerri Archibald. Along with the Humboldt Girls Tournament title, the Vikings have already won the Foam Lake ‘Hoopin It Up’ Tournament on Dec 3 and the Clavet 2nd Annual Throwdown 2011 back on November 26.

The momentum gathered so far has been right on par for these defending Saskatchewan Provincial Champs. They will look to continue the ball rolling into their next upcoming tournament in Regina.
