Women’s Alumni Game

PHASE 1 kicked off Saturday morning with a Women’s Alumni game, which started off on a slow pace but turned out to be an intense game in the second half. This game paid tribute to many of Canada’s finest in the past, who have taken their basketball careers to the pro and semi-pro level. Highlighting the Women’s Alumni East team was 5’9 Khalihah Este-Shehu who plays professionally for the Cyclones in Austrailia and Natasha Tombs from Scarborough, Ontario who is a member of the Toronto Stealth. The West had two more athletes from the Toronto Stealth; Kimberly Lee and Ashley Docking who were both commanders on the court at the guard position. Docking went on an onslaught as she had a double-double with 10 dimes and 12 points. Drandia Roc of the west team had a fabulous hard fought game putting up a game high 14 on the board for the East. The spread was not stretched by any more than 4 throughout the game until the East team broke it open in the fourth quarter, stretching the lead to 10 and eventually securing the East victory with a 66-56 score.
