Hudyn Recruiting Trail Heats Up

Earlier this past summer, we announed that the light on Michelle Hudyn (6’2″, PF, Eastwood Collegiate, 2012) would continue to shine brightly as her AAU team prepared for their biggest tournament of the summer (see: Hudyn Ready To Lead A-Game To Peach State Elite 32). Her hard work, especially this past summer, has led to multiple looks and multiple offers from quite a few suitors.

Its a process that Hudyn is taking in stride. “Its an awesome feeling knowing that schools want you to come and play for them,” she said after returning from an official visit to Rice University (September 10-11), “[I’m] trying to keep everything organized with all the different info for each school.”

With very strong interest from other schools such as Missouri, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, South Florida, Northeastern and Oregon, she will have lots to keep organized. For her, the school that will look after her scholastically, will be her best fit. “My major factor would be the academics for sure, I want to make sure that after my basketball career I have a good degree that will take me far”, Hudyn hinted. But besides her 86% average last school year and her ability to get it done in the classroom, she also added that she’d looking for “a family atmosphere with the team, and a basketball program that fits my style of play where i think i could go and contribute in right away” as factors in her decision making.

Other NCAA schools pursuing this Kitchener-Waterloo area Power Forward’s services next year include: Lehigh, U of Pennsylvania, Vermont, Canisius, Fairfield, Bowling Green, Colgate, Wagner, Cleveland State, Kent State, U at Buffalo, Niagara, Albany and New Hampshire.
