Misir To Play In NCAA’s NEC Conference

Tiya Misir (5’5″, PG) of Markham, ON has committed to accept an athletic scholarship and play with the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds of the NCAA Northeast Conference as a late signing for this September.

Misir, who has earlier this year played rep basketball with Blues JUEL and summer travel ball with the Toronto Matrix, is a dynamic Guard with combo tendencies. She is quick in the open court with the ball. In the half court set she possesses creative scoring ability and can score off the dribble. She is a hard worker that can also connect from beyond the 3-point line as well, contributing in different ways especially when scoring in bunches.

Misir rounded out a very successful Senior year with the Bill Crothers Colts, earning the Ontario Scholastic prep league’s Sportsmanship Award as well as a Second Team All-Star nod this past Spring.
