Lauren Boers (3-stars, 5’11”, 2018) of Oakville, ON has committed to play with the University of Toronto Blues in the Fall of 2018.

“I’m very excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic journey at the University of Toronto”, said Boers via her Instagram feed.

“I would like to thank all of my coaches, family and friends who have helped me to get to this point.”

Boers, who has played several summers with the Team Ontario program, has been playing very well of late, north of the border while playing with King’s Christian. On her School team, she is used primarily in the perimeter, where as a spot to 3-point shooter she can really cause some damage. Her ability to get out in transition, especially when she causes turnovers, will also be a valuable skill that she will be able to leverage when she suits up with the Varsity Blues.

Boers has always been a standout player, from her days with the Oakville Venom and on to her time with the Hamilton Transway and with her previous school Bishop Reding.  She has routinely been a player to keep an eye on, and should be a good fit next Fall at the University of Toronto and throughout her career there.
