Eleanore Marciszewski (5’11”, F, Dawson College/TW Bluehounds, 2018) of Ste-Julie, QC has made a verbal commitment to attend James Madison University of the NCAA’s Colonial Athletic Conference.

“Relieved would be the best word to describe it,” said Marciszewski about how happy she is to have made this decision to attend the school located in the State of Virginia.

“It was clearly one of the hardest decisions I have ever made! I was very fortunate to have as much opportunities as I did. It was a really great process, I learned a lot of things and I couldn’t be more happier about my decision!”

Marciszewski is among the strongest players in the Canadian Class of 2018. The height, solid frame and broad shoulders she already posses, would help her to blend right in to a University team photo and not cause her to look out of place. She has a very good feel for the game and routinely demonstrates a high skill level, particularly when to comes to ball handling and her ability to read the game. She can score at all three levels and has even shown to be quite comfortable shooting 3-4 feet beyond the arc of she has a defender that hasn’t read the scouting report. She has tricks up her sleeve whether facing up or back to the basket with the ball, again showing that the Dukes will be getting a player with a good toolkit, and still has some good upside.

“I chose James Madison mainly because of the people, the coaching staff, the players and the people on campus. It is very important because I will be with them all the time during the next 4 years!”

The latest string of success that the Dukes have been having, including a 27-6 record in 2015-2016 and 26-9 in the 2016-2017 season, also had a positive influence, along with the campus setting.

“Their team mentality was exactly what I was looking for, which is a winning and a family mentality combined. Harrisonburg, is a small town, and we can see the pride that the University brings all around the city. Their facilities and their campus were awesome as well.”

Besides receiving interest from many schools, Marciszewski had also went on official visits to Memphis and Florida Atlantic as schools she had on her short list.
